Question

Can anyone recommend which tyre to go for ?
Not bothered about price but good handling in dry & wet.

Thanks.
Andy.

Trying to make the same choice at the moment. Bridgestone SO2s seem to be the best overall, with far the best wet grip. Goodyear Eagle F1s also seem pretty good but cost close to the SO2s. The bargain choice seems to be Falken which give good dry grip, mediocre wet grip and low road noise (a criticism of SO2s). Micheldever are selling these at £68 per tyre fitted as opposed to £102 for SO2s.

TT,

Dig the name "TarmacTerrorist"

Why not Toyo Proxes T1s, around £77 and similar grip pattern to Goodyear F1's

They're supposed to be a good tyre.

Paul, have you compared them with the peoples favorite, Bridgestone SO2s ? Or even Toyos ? And are they good in the wet, as the Autocar report said ?

Cool

Speaking on behalf of someone with an STIiv - he swears by SO2's. Has just fitted his second set and I'm just about to run on my first set of them on my WRX. They are "probably" unbeatable in the wet and just as grippy in the dry.

Hope that helps.

I had Pirelli P-Zeros on my WRX up until a month ago. They were good in the dry but not so hot in the wet. In fact once they got about half-worn they had a tendency to be quite scary in wet conditions. I did get about 25,000 miles out of them though.

I highly rate 16" Goodyear F1's. I have had a set on for 2K miles now, and they are very confidence inspiring - rain or shine.
If you are near London, try Wembley Tyres, they do a set of 4 for around £310 all in.

Alternatively, I have some hardly worn ones for Sale which came off the trackday wheels I've just brought. Check out the PRIVATE FOR SALE board if your interested.

A vote here for the Toyo T1-S Proxes on 16" wheels. So much better than the Yokohamas I was running B4.

Cheers, Simon.
