Question ET46 offset OK for MY03 WRX?

Would ET46 offset wheels be OK for a MY03 WRX?

I know the OE wheels are 55 or that is what it has stamped on the back of them anyway. I'm looking at P1 OZ WRC wheels in 18's and notice the Rally gold only comes in ET46 which is for STI because of the Brembo's.

They are available in ET53 too but gold not rally gold.

Info from Prodrive site:
18” P-WRC1 Wheel, 7.5” x 18” ET46:

Crystal titanium or rally gold finish

Fits Forester & Impreza STi (fitted with Brembo brakes)

Anyone got these on WRX, take it STI8 wheels on a WRX are ET46 too ?

Thanks,

Andy.

If I remember correctly from the recent group buy;

ET46 is for the New Age models and ET53 is for the classic shape

ET46 is only to clear the new STI Brembo brakes, you won't have problem but I wouldn't choose less than ET48 for my WRX03 (currently with 18" OZ SuperL")

Jim,

Why is that? So you wouldn't put STI8 wheels or the OZ 10 spokes in ET46 on?

Not a MY03 but I have Sti wheels on my new age WRX and no issues at all.

It's simple, you put the wheel weight away from the hub, the closer the better, no really an issue except wearing wheel bearings and little bit worse handling.
I wonder why Prodrive, OZ and Speedline sale WRX wheels with higher offset than 48?

Exclamation

a friend of mine has just had a set of 8x17" OZ superleggeras fitted to his STI9 (think they are 45 offset) and they rub horribly both front and back. The tyres have started shredding and they have blue paint from the arches on their edges. They also stick out too much and it looks stupid. He says he is going to try and roll the arches dunno if its gonna help cause in my opinion they just stick out too much. anyone?

its weird cause the arches on the new age scoobs are massive and the gold superleggeras are obviously made for subaru impreza and should fit properly

OK, I think I'll give Prodrive a ring and ask what about ET46 on a WRX.

I fitted a set of Team Dynamics, Diablo wheels in 18' to my MY01 with an offset of ET45 and they where fine,no handling or rubbing issues at all.

18" Prodrive OZ's are 18 x 7.5 according to info I've found ET46 would be +15mm outside and +3mm wider on the inside compared to OEM wheel.
