Default 235x40x18s, will they fit a classic Impreza?

I want to get some Dunlop track tyres for our Impreza but they only come in 235x40x18 or bigger. Will these go under the original arches with 8x18 rims and an ET48 offset?

I don't think it'll be a case of rubbing with that setup, more like grinding to a halt. The 225 profile normally rubs on a classic even in 35's, the 235/40's will most certainly be bad news

Ah borrocks

So I need 18s to fit my brakes under but the tyres I want wont fit my car in 18" because theyre too big

Even if I go for Yoko 048s instead I think theyre only available in 225x40x18

yeah - the tyres you'll want for the classic are 215/35/18's and I think a 7.5x18 wheel.

If you get your arches rolled however, you could take at least a 225/35/18 - worth thinking about

I'm running 225/40/18's on my classic. Prodrive Bilsteins and eibachs. Rear spring cups did rub slightly but made a small dent in them and they're ok now. Summit rubs with back passengers and big bumps but I think it's the arch liner.

Still up in sunny Shetland Kevin?! Didn't spot your car in the drag strip day in the Shetland Times a couple of weeks back

Still sunny Mark, glorious day today actually.
I did take part, bit of a hoot it was. Beat a couple of MR2 turbo's before coming up against a 460 bhp RS4 - gave him a good run for his money but he got off the line better than me. Typical Shetland event - ended with a good **** up. Cops were on hand next morning offering free breath tests before picking up the cars. The Scania artic cab doing a doughnut and lifting it's inside front wheel was quite impressive. How's the car going - you had some bother if I remember.

sounds good. Made me laugh looking at all the Saxo posse, and then a big power Skyline trouncing them all! I still get sent the odd copy of the "times" good to see what's going on

No probs with the car, but im about to move onto scoob no 5 Just had a spell in an Integra R, and an STi4 before that. Fun but need an STi again so might have something on the way

Thought the rozzers were all corrupt up there these days?

No more corrupt than anywhere else
They were actually pretty low key during the day itself. Sunday morning they had three cars on the prowl.
Can't believe you still get the Shetland Times
Still got my STi 3, 5 yrs now and still going good. SUL arrived the week before the track day - 99.9p per litre - had to be tried though (plus a bottle of NF) car ran pretty good on the day. Chap with the RS4 has a 770bhp RS6 on order must avoid him next year.

99p! Holy sheeeet, I though it was bad down here!

Was going to convert to LPG and fill up from one of the LPG pumps straight from one of the separators - but try getting a permit for it from ISSOW

Speak soon...
