Default Hard Brakes

Is it usual for the brakes on a bugeye to be solid?

Under hard braking the pedal is like pushing a brick (blinking hard), there doesn't seem to be a proper pedal feel just the solid feel

i've just picked up the car and it was serviced before i got it so don't know what it was like before

sounds like the servo is either disconnected or faulty???
either way it needs checking as doesn't appear to be right..............

with the engine switched off pump the brake pedal until its hard and wont go down any further, keep your foot pressed on the pedal and then start the car. If the servo is functioning your pedal should go down a little further. Its a basic test to indicate that the servo is functional.

regards

Andy

how long have you owned the car?? where did you get it from?? sounds more like one of our gpN brake mods..............basically you do away with the servo assistance because of the "anti-lag" strategy affecting the vacuum.............

take it back and get it checked!!
