Try Mintex pads with M1230 material on them - a lot cleaner wheels, performance as good if not better than OE, no noise etc. I've got some on my bugeye at the moment and like them. They are classed as a "heavy duty" standard friction material without being competition spec stuff with "competition characteristics." The M1230 material should be standard for scoob applications from what I can find out from Mintex (it's used for vehicles over a certain GVW or with a higher than average top speed ). It's what used to be speced for "white van man" as it took a fair bit more grief than standard material...

Go to your nearest Subaru dealers and negotiate a good discount on a set of genuine OE ones. Aim to pay no more than £90 . No squeals, No fade blah blah. Only thing is that they are not pre-baked so expect to bed them in for about 50 miles or so.
