Default are yokohama tyres any good?

just wondering as i can't think of the last time someone recomended them on here.

i've never used them myself, but my mate had some and they were super sticky (in the dry anyway, not too sure about wet performance).

if the old ones aren't much kop, how about the new paradas?

I drove recently a friends WRX with new Yoko Paradas and they have amazing grip but they have low mileage.

how low are we talking about? you can get these for a fairly decent price in comparison with goodyear/bridgestone etc

Yoko's are the dogs danglys. Have not run them for a while but had A509's, A510's and A520's. Very sticky in the dry good in the wet and much better than the goodyear eagles are the time. Slighty lower than average wear rate, but you have a performance tyre.

Will prob try them next. Chris from Littleknocks runs AVS Sports and rates them. Low wear rates usually due to soft compounds which usually means sticky tyres, which sound good to me.

you can get the paradas and AVS for the same price, does anyone know which ones best?

i'd always heard yokos were a bit average in the wet, or is this just bollox?

sounds like a good alternative tyre, but what sort of average mileage can you expect from them? 2k miles less than pirelli for example?
