Talking STI 8 330mm Brembos on a P1........

Hi all

A mate of mine is selling a front set of Brembo calipers, 330mm discs and pads from an STI 8. Will they fit my Impreza P1 without modification? And will the standard P1 17" OZ Prodrive alloys fit over them ok?

Thanks for your help in advance guys!

The brakes will fit, but 99%sure that the wheels won't fit, if the brakes are still on your mates car, take his wheel off, and try to put yours on!!

I think the offset on the wheels is slightly different on the new age STi's to compensate for the size of the Brembo caliper, so possably no it wont fit (unless you fit the alloys from the new age STi that is).

Cheers for the info guys!

Bugger!!!! I didnt think it would be that easy!

Would it be possible to use a small spacer to get them on? Dont really want to get new alloys cos I quite like the standard P1 items! What are peoples views on using a small spacer? If I did use a spacer, what size would I need and would I need to use a spacer on all 4 wheels?

Cheers guys

You need 3mm racing spacers.

The brembo kit in the Godspeed group buy will fit behind your wheels as they make the discs with more offset so you dont have to run wheel spacers

Stu

There are several complications

1. The piston sizes are much larger than the std calipers so the hydraulic ratios are wrong and you will have much more brake bias to the front.

2. The caliper design means that you will not be able to use the std wheels.

3. Spacers will reduce the amount of available stud length to unacceptable levels.

4. The only wheels that would fit will be either 18" which may give tyre clearance issues or the std 17" STi rims which are a little larger than ideal for the std tyres and aren't what you want to use anyway.

Save the money and put it towards something that's designed for that model

Regards

Mike
