Default STi 4 pots on a Terzo

Got hold of some 4 pots and 295mm discs a while back for my Terzo (Prodrive suspension pack in it if that matters). Without spacers, the wheels (17" speedline 6 spokes, as on the RB5) won't turn without fowling against the calipers. I don't like the idea of putting spacers on and I'm looking into my options:

1. Longer studs perhaps.
2. New wheels with suitable offset to clear.
3. Return to standard brakes.

I could do with knowing what offset my current wheels are. I've also been looking at some 17" OZ SuperTs. Wondered if they'd give me the clearance I need.

Cheers,

Steve

longer wheel studs will make no difference at all to your wheel fit, apart from allowing a better grip of the stud if you fit spacers..........................

best option is simply to get a later set of 17" wheels that will clear without problems..........

17x7JJ 4B EK

TI/26

5-100VIA 505kg

I think (its dark and cold outside so im not looking just at the moment) that the STi alloys are 17x7.5.
The biggest difference is the way that the spokes are formed outward, thus giving room for the calipers to fit. Now if your alloys dont form out id suggest you go looking for some STi ones, from experience, it seems that most people have the same problem as you, so you will need a set of STi alloys OR go for another manufacturer for your calipers (or ones that fit under your alloys).

Steve,
Can you find a pic of your wheels?

I suspect they are not the RB5 Speedlines as the RB5 came as std with 4 pots.
They may be the optional extra Speedline wheels for the pre MY99 cars that look very simalar. These do not fit over 4 pots Thats the reason Subaru stopped selling them in 1999.

Yes, those are the ones. Terzos normally came with standard 5 spoke gold wheels, but mine had Speedlines as an optional extra.

My Terzo came with those Speedlines and they didn't fit over my Alcon 330mm brakes aswell. Had to spacer them out by 14mm to fit. Now running P1 wheels as the spokes curve out and are thinner.

Hope this helps.

Ande.
