Default 215/45/17 tyre on ST2's?

Do any of you guys have the above combination?

I am currently running 205/45/17, had 215/40/17 (which I dont like) and want to try the above if there are no problems.

Cheers for any help.

What was wrong with the 215/40's? Same make as the 205/45's or not?
215/45's will cause you a bit more speedo error.
I assume you have a classic?

Yes it is a classic. They tyres when 215's were F1's and were too hard a ride. The 205's are falkens and are alot better, but I wanted a bit more width (no jokes) still with good ride properties.

I used to have the 205/45's but they are damn expensive compared to 215/40's which is why i made the change. Can't say i noticed a real change in the ride though. The 215/40's i run are Toyo's - it's possible they give a softer ride than F1's, but as i've never tried them i can't really comment

Why would a switch from 205/45 to 215/40 produce a harder ride????? The tyre side wall is near as damit the same height. The difference would come from tyre manuafcturer used and pressures. I've had both sizes and the ride was not effected at all......
