Im currently running the 16" Subaru wheels on my MY00 but Im gonna be moving up to 17" very soon. What have the rest of you done about the spare wheel being the wrong size?

I use to have a 17" spare.
That said, as long as you have the correct profile of tyre on your 17" wheels (205/45/17 or 215/40/17) then the rolling circumference is pretty close.
It's not like you will be leaving the space saving spare on for a long period of time!

Ray, did you get a set of 17's sorted as I've just read a post and you were looking for some Turini wheels in 17" - I've got some if you're interested but you'd have to get back to me in a day or so before the car goes...

Problems really arise when your running big brakes. Spacesaver wont fit so you have to carry a full size spare. Unless you like to mess about changing front to back at the side of the road. Daz

The later spacesaver wheels are designed to fit over the standard 4-pot brakes, so unless you have gone for larger brakes, it's not an issue.
That said the preference for me, is that I would run it on the rear, due to more power being sent to the front wheels.
