I currently have the T1-R's fitted all round (MY00 215/45 R17). They're nowhere near as good in the wet as the Eagle F1's were that I used to have - back to the Goodyears for me the Toyo's have had it...

I have the 215 40 17 T1Rs and rate them in the wet. I also run F1 GSD3 Eagles. The Toyos have harder side walls and in heavy standing water are more inclined to aquaplane but otherwise I think they are good. Far superior to the Kuhmos they replaced. If the F1 Eagles get 8/10 then the T1R get 7/10. Kuhmo in the wet 4/10 to put it into perspective.

Aaron Bird was always shouting about how well the Michellin Pilot Sports are. Can't justify their high premium so Goodyears have been the best wet tyres I've tried so far.

The Michellins are good (need a bit of heat in them mind), and mine seem to be lasting very well. Which offsets the extra cost.
I used to get about 10-12k out of a set of Toyo's or F1's. Now over 10k on the Michellins and they are about half worn.
Dave.

Not a lot in it IMHO, in the dry anyway, they do seem a little quieter with respect to road noise though.
No comparison when it's really pouring down though, F1's a lot better in the wet, Car doesn't feel as planted with the Toyo's - they're OK but I wouldn't really trust them if I needed to get a shift on. I've read a few posts about the T1-R's being good in the wet & dry but not so good when it's in between - ie a bit greasy. Toyo's have been on for about 3 months now so no idea what the wear rate is like and how they perform when worn down a bit. I had the F1's on for 13K and I never noticed any big drop in performance until they went (well) past the legal tread limit.
I'm not keen keen on driving in the wet, but the F1's were superb and gave a lot of confidence - definately Goodyears for me from now on.
