A word about tyres....
currently running P-Zeros (205/45/17) on my P1, thinking of swapping them for some goodyear eagle F1 GSD3's. what is the standard factory spec tyre size for the P1?? Some say 205's some say 215's. The car handles superbly in the dry at the mo and i am afraid of getting wider tyres in case of more roll?? is this something to be worried about?

When it comes to tyres, I think a lot of it is down to personal preference and what you get used to.
Some people like no sidewall flex at all for very sharp handling, but this very often gives a "crashy" ride.
Tyre characteristics are inportant too. Wet grip, dry grip, wall stiffness, tyre wear ratings, grip ratings, etc, etc.
205/45 sidewall height is 92.25mm, 215/40 sidewall height is 86mm, so in the same type of tyre you willl get less sidewall flex in the 215/40.
I have 215/40/17 Toyo T1S's on mine and I have no problems with them. I had 205/50 Eagle F1's on with my last (16") wheels and I didn't like them at all.
I'm due for new tyres shortly and I'll be staying with Toyo, but changing to the T1R.
You pays your money, you takes your choice.

The Toyo track day tyre (888) has been out for a good few months now and they are certainly not recommended for hooning around public roads when its wet out
I've just put my second set of T1-R's on my V5 Type R. The garage where I got the car from put the "wrong" ones on in the form of 215/45/17 and to be honest, I never really noticed (until now) any roll etc and they did increase the gearing by 5% which supposedly helps on long mway runs.
I have done a full set of T1-R's in in 6 months, covering around 15k miles.
Saying that, this time, I have opted for the correct size and put 215/40/17's on. Now that I have the correct size on, I can notice quite a difference between the two. The new ones give a more planted feel, and loads of confidence in the dry, even the one's with the 45 profiles gave stacks of confidence, but theses are great. (hasnt been wet yet since yesterday but I think they'll be fine)...
I was going to try the F1's but for the extra cost, I really cant see the advantage at all. Totally recommend the T1-R's.

I've just put a set of F1's on my MY99 coming from SO3's - and althought the ride is quieter and the grip is good, I really don't like the way the car feels when pushing around a corner now. You can feel the flex in the sidewalls and it feels 'squirmy'. I've put about 600 miles on them now and played with the pressures, but I'm still not happy! I don't think I'd have another set. Just my opinion. Sorry, can't help with the size question for a P1.
