Default is there such a thing as a good high performance pad with a good wear rate?

just wondering if anyone has found a good performing pad that lasted a good length of time aswell? (a bit like finding the holy grail i would imagine)

obviously the trade off to a good performing pad is that they won't last long, but although i want a better pad, i don't want to have to change the bloody things every 5 mins!

ebc redstuff sound like they don't last too long and i don't know a thing about mintex, tarox etc?

any pointers at all guys and gals? don't do track days but they do get a bit of stick every know and again.

tried a search but i must be putting the wrong key words in, as i've had no real help thru that. any links to threads would also be much appreciated

ta

Ferodo DS2500 are very well liked, some prefer Pagid RS421. They can take a track day and I've had no trouble on cold winter days with either.

Make sure your discs are not knackered, though.

mintex looka bit cheaper at first glance, are the ferodos a bit overkill for road use? (don't do trackdays)

trying to veer towards semi cheapskate now, did the full on cheapskate bit and bought some Apec brake pads.

they nearly caused a moment when i suffered a bit of brake fade and i kinda couldn't stop seems they don't like getting too hot

thoroughly recomend them if you drive like a miss daisy though

I have run a couple of sets of DS2500s - great pads, though life was as expected not brilliant. [ Probably about 8-9K miles - but that is B road driving ]. Now trying the Pagids and seem to produce slightly less dust - so may last a bit longer!
