Default Removing Bad Brakedust?

Hi Guys,

I have a company car and over the past few years it has got a real bad build up of caked on brake dust.
I always pay special attention to the wheels but have not found a product that gets EVERYTHING off and subsequently its has built up!

Have any of you got any suggestions on a real good product that will remove it all?
I have tried autoglym and that didnt work. Not saying it's not a good product, it just didnt remove the real caked on stuff.

Try a clay bar. I know a few manufacturers make it and you should be able to get one from Halfords

Have you tried wonder wheels?

Gets rid of most stuff I find but be careful where you splash it as it's quite corrosive.

Hi iv'e got the same problem. Im running mintex racing pads the F4R compound, and clean my wheels at least once a weak, but still find that not all of the brake dust comes off; after spending many hours using different products such as Wonder Wheels, Autoglym wheel cleaner etc.

I'll try soda crystals. Any more ideas?

Well ive still not tried wonder wheels (as I had also heard it was corrosive) but Ive just got myself some, so I'll see how it goes.

The guy at the valet shop said go round the car and apply it twice to all wheels then wash it off and it should remove pretty much anything!!

I'd be a bit wary of wonder wheels - there are a few reports of it removing more than just brake dust over time...used it maybe 6 times on the Scoob and now the wheel laquer is badly cracked...coincidence??
