Default Yoko AVO sport?

Looking for a set of road legal soft tyres for track & sprints to put on spare set of wheels.

Anyone know if these are any good? Seem a bit cheap to be too good.

Alternatively, any recommendations?

Spec. STi3 wagon, 17" STi8 rims currently with 225/45 RE040s, std springs/dampers, whiteline f/r ARBs, ALK Upper/lower braces.

Cheers
Gerry

Great in the dry - hopeless in the wet!

Is that wet as in just damp or standing water ?

Thanks for replying

PS Also now looking at Toyo R888 but bloody expensive. The STi8 wheels with 225/45 are a little too wide so would prefer 215/45. At 205 they start to look reasonable as there's a big price drop.

Toyo site says it'll take that size rim so may go for the 205s

Either!

A mate of mine has the Toyo R888 on his Evo 6 (in a 235/45/17) and they are stunning - I have never felt dry grip like it! You do get what you pay for!

205's will have the rims standing proud of the tyre and look a bit silly IMHO .....

What about Dunlop SP Sport Maxx or Dunlop "R's"?

Waiting for prices back on Kumho 70A which are supposed to be pretty good. Dunlop SSR seem reasonable. Need a few other bits so cost is unfortunately, a consideration.

Could be 205 Toyos, I'm quite used to looking silly
