Default New Impreza Query

Hello all

just bought a brand new impreza WRX 2.0t last week .just a quick question how is best to clean the gun metal alloy wheels that came as standard with the car. i have been told that wonder wheels is best for cleaning when really dirty, however what is best for regular day to day cleaning. just so i dont damage them!

cheers

Good old soapy water and a rinse when you're washing the car.
Personally use Meguiars gold class.

Also its worthwhile waxing the wheels as it helps when washing brake dust off

I use the meguiars pink stuff (hot wheels or something?); pretty good and apparently doesn't damage the laquer. I use this every two-three weeks when I wash the car (should do it more) so there's a healthy build-up of brake dust to shift. It does need brushing in etc. to shift the muck though; as far as I know there's no spray-on, rinse-off wonder product...

I use an alloy wheel protector after they have been cleaned. Its some sort of silicon based spray that puts a coat over the alloy. Brake dust clings to it, rather than the wheel, making it so much easier to clean next time.

Wonder wheels is dilute concrete acid. I damaged the laquer on BMW alloys. Muc off works well is non acidic and works a treat under the bonnet too
