Question Upgrading from Single(!!) to 4 pot?

I have got an MY93 with the original (single pot) scary brakes.

Have just managed to buy some 4 pot calipers (the red ones with Subaru written along the front)

What size discs will fit these? Am I right in thinking they are 294mm?

Is there anything else I would need? Is there a cover for the discs that I would need? From memory I think there is one on there but that would obviously be too small.

Was thinking about fitting braided hoses but not sure which ones would fit.

Any help would be much appreciated

Get some Goodridge stainless steel braided hoses ( with stainless fitings or cheaper galvanised ones IIRC ) for around £50, and change fluid too.
The disks have dust shields, and shouldreally be changed with the larger discs, but I believe the smaller 2 pot caliper dust shields can be bent a bit to clear.

Pads - depending on your driving style, mintex / C-Tech 1144 or 1155 ( faster harder driving ) are fine, or similarly Ferodo Ds2000 / DS25000. Pagids are good but expensive ( I found them dusty too, athough the Mintex did squeak!).

Many thanks for the info guys.

If the dust sheild will straighten out I'll give it a try

With regards to the pads, I am running Mintex 1155 on the front and 1144 on the rear on the current set up and have been impressed with the performance. They give off far too much dust though for my liking.

Are Ferodo/Pagid pads tougher on the discs than the Mintex? I know someone who says that his pagid pads practically ate a set of Group N discs during a track day!
