I don't know about their relative performance, but personally, I think I'd spend a bit more and get the APs (which seem to be regarded as just about the best brakes you can buy).... Have you seen the ones at Godspeed?

No mate. Go to

http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/

And click on the alloy caliper conversions link.

Brembos only £100 cheaper than APs assuming a 16" wheel. I don't know if there has been any empirical tests of the relative effectiveness of these different kits though.

Had AP's on my Type R and they were better than the Brembos' on my STI9.

Both cars have twin post rears.

Personal opinion though.

Steve,
Are you talking the smaller calipers you see on the likes of a Pug 406 Coupe, same/similar to the godspeed ones?
If so, they are a good option, i had these on my last scoob with 308mm AP grooved discs, the car really stopped well (Mintex 1144 pads) and gave you some serious confidence over the subaru 4 pots.
Worth going for if you have a 16 inch (or even a 17 inch) setup if you dont do heavy track days as they are quite robust.

Tony
