Default HIT CATS EYES

I Mates New To All This, Went for a spin this morn, hit cats eye with off/side rear wheel. cats eye pocking up out of tarmac,like a witches left tit. Heard a nice big F...ing bang, lovely Bent and split rim.Rest of wheels all ready scuffed from last owner.Hence looking for set of wheels,To fit tyre size 215/35zr18.Not too much as iam in the middle of tune up jobies. Thanks for any help.

Outside chance of a claim against the council ?
Take a pic of the cats eye and your wheel : they may cough up for the damage.
A safety issue surely ? Sounds bad enough that it could have caused a blowout or if a biker hits it then it could be even worse !

Good advice but u know wot council r like, i would need to sell scooby to fund the claim; FAT CHANCE; i would rather just buy sum more wheels.

You should be able to claim for that. Like advised get a photograph to backup your claim then phone the council up for a claim form. They have LOADS in stock and it costs you nothing to put the form in.

Same for a pothole, millions of £'s are claimed and paid out each year for damage to tyres/rims from unkept roads.

Have a look on Ebay, if its an original wheel you often see people just selling one, so you might be able to get a bargain without replacing all of them - there are also usually full sets on there fairly cheap
