Squeaky Brakes Impreza 2002 Wagon

Since I replaced the front brake pads they squeal when cold. I have put copper ease on the back and all the points of contact, obviously not on the working surface this stops it for a few days but then comes back just as bad

Dose anyone have any Ideas.

Can I also just check that everything is in the right place, I did lay out the old pads and then put the new pads back in the reveres order, but I could have got it wrong.

The flat retaining spring/plate which is held by the pins, should the curved bit be at the top or bottom, It seems to fit ether way.

There is an extra bit of metal on one of the pads I have put it on the inboard side of the disk, is this right.

There are 2 plates between the pad and the piston is there any particular way these should go.

Many thanks for any help.

Matt

Did you have/have you fitted the thin metal spacers?

These fit between the rear of the pads and the pistons.

IIRC you will never get rid of the squeal without them.

Check if they are there and if not, see if you can source them.

What pads did you fit and did you follow the bedding in procedure?
