have red stuff on mine. they take enough warming up and will give you a few scares. after sitting at motorway speeds and needing to brake, they take a couple of seconds to warm up and start to work properly. be careful with pads imo. if not using for track days and just day to day driving go for greens or reds at most.
got mine from camsport in a group buy. want to organise one for us?

pars, I used up 2 sets of red stuff in my old classic, then not long before I sold it, and prior to doing 2500 miles in europe up mountains, I switched to yellow stuff. I found them to be much better at cold braking, and more consistent on long stretches of prolonged braking. I would recommend them if your looking for something different.

Buy some decent pads, NOT EBC GREEN

pars .... read the web-site and it tells you which pad is for which car. Greens were always for lightweight hot hatches NOT for heavier cars such as scoobs. Not even for road use. A dealer worth his salts will tell you this when you ring and ask.
Call it opinionated or call it reading the web-site.
Of course they may have changed it in the last 6 months, but I doubt it.
Gary
Edited to say pads I would use depend on how you use a car. Reds are ok for reasonable road use and light track work (wear out quite quick though) Pagid Yellows were my last choice and are excellent as they are endurance race pads.

on this subject, my discs will need changing soon and i know its best to change the pads as well...i dont intend to change the brakes themselves, so what are the best discs and pads to get for a few hundred...?
and does different kit perform alot differently...?
cheers for any input...

mate had greens on his 328i and they were fine. bit heavier than a scoob i think.
not too tight to buy pads that were made for my car. if you read my post properly it says that i've already got reds on it. they've just worn out really quick. was going to change to green as i thought that they'd last longer so to you too.

I tried EBC Greens a few years back - when they were recommended There was a horrible burnt sort of smell whenever I arrived at work (country lane route ) I was glad to see they changed the recommendation - I wouldn't have put greens on again...

Make a note of the Redstuff Ceramic part number, eg DP31200C. Change the first number, 3 to a 4, eg DP41200, this gives you the Yellowstuff part number. Enter the Yellowstuff part numbers required, into the EBC Part number quick search box to add them to your cart.

Upon selecting an Impreza Turbo there is a note below the brake part numbers stating EBC Technical recommend Reds for this car.
