Bridgestone potenzas?
HI.
I currently own a MY02 WRX with bridgestone potenza RE010's which are 215/45/17s. Would I be able to fit RE070's on the same wheel which are 225/45/17.
Thanks.

Your WRX wheels are 7j (7") wide and although the STI uses 7.5j they will go on, however they may 'bulge' a bit.
The other thing is that the overall diameter (& rolling radius) will larger so effectively the cars gearing will be higher and your speedo will read slower (probably more accurate as they are way over anyhow..!)
Take a look hear for exact differences:

I don't know why you would want to continue with Bridgestones, the RE range of tyres are ****e.
I had REs on a MY01 WRX (from new) and a few years later on an MY04 STI (new) couldn't wait to get rid of them, the differnce when I fitted Eagle F1s was massive.
I didn't realise how much of a difference decent rubber made.
Just my opnion.

strange when they get such good ratings from tyretest.com
well the re050a`s do on everything except snow
the re010`s get poor results
i have not checked the re070 tyres

Soft sidewalls - not too much of a problem I suppose.
But they won't last any length of time at all.
The RE070's are quite a good tyre I think. Very positive steering.
Very noisy though, and need to be treated with respect on greasy surfaces.
Apart from that, on wet or dry they are very good I think.

The RE070's are great only whimps change when they say they dont like them as they cannot drive properly and need some goodyears that split sidewalls
Great wet and dry, interesting when its damp though, makes you think a bit before putting your foot down, and even if you do, gives you lots of warning of whats happening.
Wasted a toyota T-Sport corolla across an A road in the wet with these tyres on, great fun
