Rear brakes binding
Hi all.
We've just come back from holiday towing the caravan. I know it's not the normal sort of thing to do with an Impreza but that's not my point.
When I'm towing, the rear brakes both run hot as though they're binding. I've even tried checking after a long motorway trip having stopped using minimal brakes. The fronts are cool but the rears are too hot to touch. Not red hot but hotter that they should be. The problem goes away as soon as I unhitch the caravan.
Any ideas? Sensible ones only please .
Car is a MY 00 Classic 5 door.
Thanks
John

Experienced similar but rubbing noise at low speed with 5 in car last week after a run down fast dual carriageway. I put it down to ride height - does running low actually slightly engage the handbrake? (car just serviced too so handbrake adjusted then). Noise disappears when handbrake is pulled (gently) when travelling along. Just a thought. 03 blob eye.
