Guys,
Very worrying experience ................braided brake line split on me !
Fortunatly I was only doing 30 Mph and no damage was done, im now going
to replace all of them on the car but im very worried it might happen again, im running the Ap Racing 4 pots is there any reason why this would have happened ? Is it likely to happen again?
Regards
James

When I was a lad, running a Formula Ford single seater, we only ever used the rubber brake lines , due to the braided ones often having this happen to them. Things may have moved on in the intervening 10 years of course....Braided lines have the advantage that they are stiffer and will reduce any sponginess in this area, but they are no stronger. Our theory was that the stiffness of the line was what made it prone to failure . We had no problems using braided lines for chassis runs, just at the wheels. If I were going to use braided lines, I would only ever use top make ones e.g Goodridge.

Well if they're Goodridge they're guaranteed forever, so no problem, just get in touch with them. If they're not Goodridge then who knows. I often wonder why people buy any other brand than Goodridge tbh, they're cheap, well made and fit first time.
