Default Bleeding : How many Pedal pumps per corner

Have been bleeding my brakes alot latley due to trying out several different brake options, changing calipers, changing hoses etc...etc.....

I seem to be getting through alot of fluid each time I bleed. Maybe I'm over pumping !!!!!!

Roughly how many pumps per corner are needed to get fresh fluid through ??

I did have racing blue fluid in there which doesn't seem to mix well with DOT 5.1. I now have 5.1, but from 2 different suppliers.

I want to now flush it through with a single branded 5.1, but colour wise it will be difficult to tell what's old and whats new, hence the question.

You should pump it until you see the new brake fluid coming through, you can tell as it will be nice and clean . Goes without saying it's a two man job IMHO.

The stuff thats in there is a similar colour as it's also new (but 2 different products mixed). So I won't be able to tell whats what

Well if your flushing first, use a different colour to flush?

I normally do 3 pumps per corner, and twice round the car. Seems to sort it out without using too much fluid (i normally buy a litre, which include 0.5 litre to flush the old stuff).

Used to use a one man kit, but tbh I find it much more straightforward and less wasteful to do it as proper two man job now.
