Default having different tread depths on a awd

i have a 1995 sti one of my mates spotted that my passenger front tyre had passed its sell by date and i had a couple of part worns kicking about so iv had one tyre changed and it has more tread than the other side will this make a defferance to the diff?? it will only be on for a couple of weeks till i can afford four new tyers

I would have thought it wouldn't bother it.
If you drive the car in circles the out side wheel turns loads more then the inside one and its just the same.
I asked a similar question cos I had a Cavalier 4x4 16v Turbo and I was told i had to have equal tyres front and back.

Should be ok, but economising on the only thing that keeps you in contact with the road is viewed by many as daft, especially on a high performance car.

For a couple of weeks it shouldn't be a problem. You car I think has an open diff at the front anyway..

But as it is part worn, I would drive like you are on ice/miss daisy.. Just be sensible.

thanks for the replys il have my new toyo proxes ts-1 in 3 weeks so i can put my mind at rest now
