Default brake problem mayb??

I have just had all my cailipers refurbed, re fitted them, all the pads, dics etc, went back on the way/wheel they came off.

bleed the brake fluid starting with the furthest wheel away, the brakes work, but here is where i am not sure if something is wrong.

the 1st time i press the brake, i have to push it about 75% down, then about 1-3 pushes later it is around 10-15% traves on the pedal. this all happens when the car is driving around normally. after a few mins of not braking, the pedal takes around 75% to get the 1st bite of braking again, then 1-3 pushes after etc etc

what do you think this could be??

Either needs more bleeding or it's pad knock off.

For the latter one of the discs has gone back in on the ****, probably a bit of grit trapped between the disc and the hub. As it turns it pushes the pads back much firther than they should so the first pedal push is taking up the slack, then they work OK'ish.

Hi, i know you said they were fitted back where they came off of, but just check that the bleed nipples are at the top of the caliper and not the bottom, it's an easy(and very common) mistake to make.....

yes all bleed nipples at the top, i remember reading a post on here somewhere about that, so double checked that they went back on the right way around.

there is no noise/knocking, just the pedal has different biting points when you press it when driving.

it is allmost the same as when you tress the brake (engine is not running, car at standstill) the 1st couple of presses there is alot of travel on the pedal then it starts to move the biting point to the top of the pedal.

Easy to miss just ONE bubble, that'll do exactly what you described

The guy that taught me to bleed brakes taught me to do it, until no more bubbles appear, drive it, then redo it

also where i had the brakes off, i think it got some water in the lines as the fluid was a litte bit cloudly when it came out.
