No they won't fit without rubbing at the rear. If you fit the correct size of tyres for the car (e.g. 205/45x17 or 215/40x17, then the wheels will fit fine without rubbing.
It's the extra size of the 225/45x17 tyres which causes the issues, though the rubbing may be marginal if you remove the rubber strip on the rear arches, and/or roll the lip of the rear arches in. These tyres will also increase the effective gearing (hence reducing acceleration slightly), and your speedo/odometer would under-read by a few %, which could be dangerous if passing any speed cameras.

I tried to fit this wheel and tyre combo (STi 8 & 225/45-17) to my classic, but the problem was that the tyres were actually touching the rear strut so it was a no go.
I didn't lower the car to the ground so I can't comment on the clearance to the arches.
