No - if anyone comes on here saying 'yes someone does' - unless they say who and can give details I'd ignore them.
I've been down this road before - there is areal opportunity for someone here but the prices I've seen (£15 per piston) mean that you're cheaper finding a late model replacement caliper.

Yes someone did, because I remember seeing pictures, someone on here was actually making them, but as I can't remember who, just ignore me.
Godspeed do replacement pistons cheaper than Subaru and they look good quality.

I spoke to Ian Godney (albeit some time ago) and he said he'd never seen replacement pistons.
Like I said, I'm not convinced such a thing exists

Looks like you fellas are getting on alright without me.
From memory, my CNC chap said he could make me stainless pistons for <£15.
If there's a fair amount of interest, I'll see if he can make them for under a tenner.

Dont forget if you have them made out of stainless , they will be heavier , they will make an already heavy caliper heavier.
I think you will find that Godspeed do offer replacement pistons , but they are mild steel plated , I'm sure he would be able to do them in stainless if you wanted them , try them for a group buy.

No worries, I'll ask the question.
If time is your enemy, you'd be better off buying them from Subaru at around £15 ea for plated mild steel pistons. I don't thnk you'd see them this side of Xmas from my source. And just x8 would cost you a fortune.
But yeah, I'll ask for you.

Where do you get the idea that SS pistons will be heavier than mild steel?
Bar the chemical structure the steels are identical weight for weight, and SS doesn't have the problems associated with corrsion like chrome plated MS, manufacturers us MS as its cheap.

One recomendation with stainless pistons (and non OE mild steel); inspect them carefully: I've found some aren't very well polished (worse than the originals, put it that way). Yes they'll work, but the end result is your seals will wear out quicker.

Agree with jim, they take second to be polished up while in the lathe with emery cloth. You wouldnt just turn them down and leave it at that! They would be well rough! Bad workmanship!

I'm only telling people to throughly inspect their newly bought "uprated" pistons, after seeing such poor examples first hand. I don't want people to assume they are ok on face value on the assumption they cost more or are made out of a better material. Only to find their seals prematurely fail a year or two later.
I wouldn't have commented otherwise

Tis true I'm afraid.
On the diagram I have, it's the only part that has no number!!
Here's what I have......
Caliper body / 26292 (RH), 26292a (LH)
Bleed nipple / 26238
Bleed nipple cap / 26241
Shim retainer (?) / 26314E
Pad pins (?) / 26288
Pressure seal / a2
Piston / ?????????
Dust seal / a3
Dust seal retainer / a4
I've rung a Subaru dealer in the past and been told they're only sold with caliper bodies, but I seem to remember a chap on here called silentrunning who managed to get some.
Maybe he'll be along shortly........

Yup, super slipperly chrome plate. All pistons should be a near perfect mirror finish which makes them easy on the seals. Chrome plating is fine as long as the fluid is regulary changed to purge any moisture If they the pistons have a satin/matt finish, they havn't been polished enough, so expect a shorter seal life.
