Question STUNNER tyres, can you help me please..

i am looking to get 4, 215/45/17 tyres pretty quick and have seen 'Stunner' popping up everywhere. are these tyres michelins or something and are they good value for money?

and what does 'WR rated Scudo tyre' mean?

What price are they ?

WR is the speed rating, not sure about Scudo tho

Is Scudo not just that particular model of tyre from Stunner ?

Just found this on another forum

My only experience with Stunners was awful! They look the same as expensive tyres, but definitely don't perform like them! No grip at all in the wet.

If you're after a budget tyre, best to go for Nangkangs or Hankooks, they're best. Try Cheap Tyres & Jap Car Parts Spares Online UK :: , they're the cheapest in te country.

A few years back I was on a very tight budget. My brother runs a garage and I asked him to help me out with tyres.

He suggested Stunner as they were really cheap and the car (old rusted golf) was only going to last another 6 months anyway.

On a crappy old car I didnt mind - on the scoob? No way !!!

He recently got me to fit some Achillies for the scoob (£60), I used them for a week, first time I have ever had the back end out, wasnt fun. So the next weekend I went and got Toyo R1's all round - best thing I did. I think the toyos are about £85 each, save and get some of these.

Someone told me not to be cheap on tyres, and after my experience of cheapo's I totally agree.

Stunner tyres should only be fitted to 1.0 litre clios and corsaz with crap body kits, cheap ****e tyres. Keep well away!

You could get some Toyos (T1s or r) for nearly the money you say above, why 215/45 tho? Thought you had a classic from the pics of the knackered door a few days ago?

Oh to answer your other question, Stunner are in fact made by Michelin

Camkskill have some Falken's for around 60 quid each (they only supply the tyres, you have to find your local tyre place to fit them for you)

Ive used Falken's before they arent too bad

Ive used Nexen N3000's too but they werent that good, didnt last very long really, but they are mainly a summer tyre

Anyway these are the Falkens

FALKEN TYRES / CAR / FALKEN FK452 - FALKEN FK 452 - 215/45R17 87Y : £64.00 : Car Tyres - MPV Tyres - People Carrier Tyres : R17\" - 215/45/17, 215/45 R 17 -

Default RE: Tyres

For 60 quid a corner try Bracknell Tyre and Battery - as I had a couple of Falkens off them a year or so ago for 51 !!

cheers

Tony it is a classic, and I thought why 45's too

Mine is a classic and I used to have 215/40/17's then when I changed I went to 215/45/17's

They are fine even with Eibach Springs, but when the car is fully loaded with the missus and kids then the rears do rub on the arches

I need new tyres myself now (but scoob is in hibernation, so ive no rush) and arent sure whether to get 215/45/17's or go back to 215/40/17's

Camskill do have cheaper Falkens than those I put up in the link, but im unsure of them

Borrow an extra £60 and get Toyo Proxes at £75 each. IMO They are the best wet tyre I have had on any car.
I was coming back from up't north the other weekend and saw cars suddenly braking all the way down the M6.They were hitting standing water and panicking. I have 1 month old Toyo's and the car never even budged when going over these damp patches.

If you consider that the only contact your precious car has with planet earth is the black rubber on each corner, It does not take much to work out this is a no brainer when it comes to buying new tyres.

C'mon the Toyo's

I have Kuhmo Supras on mine and they are pretty good, not sure how they compare pricewise with other tyres though.

oops slightly wrong there I have the above summer tyres but currently have Nokian WR winter tyres fitted

Sorry Kuhmos were about 70 quid I think got them from Ford Rapid fit in Wokingham when I was last in the UK, but I suppose you can get them anywhere.

For £60 Id look at Avon tyres rather than nasty cheap firms that you havent ever heard of. As suggested, for £70 each delivered you can buy Toyo Proxes.

PMSL, Im not fat either, only 10 stone

and the kids are all under 7 years old, but then add the buggy in the boot, and whatever else we buy shopping wise, and they do catch on the rear arches slightly but only on dips in the road

IIRC the Eibachs lowered mine by about that much, maybe slightly less

If your going for Pirelli Prices (thats what I have currently got on mine, although maybe P6000's I paid 95 each for mine) then why not get Toyos ?
