Despite the thoughts on cheap tyres Falken and Kumho are not that bad. Kumho are used by some Porsche Motorsport teams and my experience in the past with Falken has been pretty good.

i have kumho Ecsta Supra's on my STi - fantastic tyres (and far better than the awful Pirelli P-Zeros i took off)

Having 19inch wheels cut my tyre choices down somewhat without the need to take out a second mortgage to afford them

ditto, i had the same kumho ones as above on my old wrx, wheels were 16" and tyres were 205/50/16. quite grippy, personally prefer toyo proxes t1-r but kumhos are a good mid budget tyre imho.

Falkens are fantastic!!

If I bought them then that should be enough if you are after value for money!

Thanks for all your advice. Would the falken 512's be good enough? Looing for value for money but need to stick to the road too. Anymore comments?

I found the Falkens to be good, not quite as good as the Yoko's i'd had previously in the dry but much better in the wet. Would def have the Falkens again.

Buy the FK451 or FK452, both are great- not sure about the 512s though...

ive got 215/40/17 on my classic with 17" rims. 45 was for a newage i think. 215 is slightly wider and grippier then 205 too, and you get a lip near the edge of the rim, a little more protection from kerbing...

Dont go for the 512's. Both myself and a mate both experienced lack of grip in the wet. Bought them cos i had a set of 451's which were great. Just ordered some 452's as i beleive they are good.

Nothing wrong with them at all in my experience, other than wearing a little faster than normal.
