Wheels: weight comparison?

Wheels: weight comparison?
Hi,
Has anyone weighted their wheels (preferably without tyres)?
I would like to know the weight of the following wheels (don't fancy putting bigger/heavier whels):
Standard 2006/2007 17" WRX wheel
Prodrive PFF7 18" wheel
I have found this site ( The Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels ) where it lists a few wheel options for different cars together with the spec (weight, offset etc.)
You can also see what each wheel looks like on the car.
I quite like the BBS RE which weighs 19lbs, i believe it's the same wheel that the S204 uses.
Thanks,

PFF7 18"x8 8.5 kg bare
2003 17" STi Gold wheel 12.5 kg. bare
Goodyear F1 GSD3 XL 225/40/18 part worn 9.0 kg.
Brembo OE 330 front disc 10 kg.
AP 6 pot 330 front disc 8 kg.
AP 6 pot Caliper 3 kg.
STi inverted front strut complete 4.3 kg.
Damper element removed 1.3 kg.
A lot of unsprung weight.
PFF7 are a lot lighter than std cast wheels and improve ride a lot despite being larger diameter.
Cheers, Diccy.

That's great D1CCY, thanks
PFF7 are top on my list then followed by BBS RE (8.64 kg)
4kg is a huge difference between these and the standard OE wheels!
What about a tyre 215/45/17?
I guess PFF7 should still be lighter even with tyres as compared with standard 17" WRX wheels and tyres?

You would get the PFF7 in 18" I would think, and so need a different tyre to the 215/45/17 you mention above. I think they are 235/40/18 or 225/35/18, the guys will tell you which.

Don't think there would be much weight diff between 17" and 18" tyres as the heavy bit is the tread area and allowing for a lower profile this is much the same size.
225/40/18 has same diameter as 225/45/17 for STi fitting. 225/40/18 is only 1.5% bigger dia (ie at 70 mph for the same speedo reading you'd only be going 1 mph faster) than 215/45/17 so I'd go with that as the other tyres are less common sizes and will cost more and be more difficult to source.

The stock tyre size of my WRX (MY07) is 215/45/17 so in order to try and keep the diameter the same I would have to go either 215/40/18 or 225/35/18. I prefer the former rather than the latter which will be too low for potholes.
I was just wondering whether the wheels and tyres I have now will be lighter/heavier as compared to PFF7 and 215/40/18 but from your answers it seems that the tyres would be of similar weight.
Just needed someone who has weighted any to confirm

Standard replacement for the wrx 215/45 17 is a 225/40 18. Yes it's has a slightly larger rolling circ. but well within the recommended +/- 10%. It's what Prodrive recommend/use..!
Put it this way, the wear on any tyre from new to the min. tread depth is greater than the difference between these two tyre sizes iyswim..?!
One other thing is your speedo will be more accurate with this size of wheel/tyre

Just looked on black circles. They only offer 1 tyre at 215/40/18 Falken for about £100. 225/35/18 offer about 5 tyres in the £150 range. 225/40/18 choice is huge from about £110 for premium brand. You'll be making life very difficult for yourself if you choose anything other than the accepted standard 225/40/18.
