when i first bought my sti v4 i had some 215 45 17 yokos on it and the seemed to handle pretty well but were very worn, so i treied getting some toyos but no where had them so i just got some 215 40 17s budget and there crap handling and ride is shocking, so now im getting some toyos but dont know whether to get 40 or 45 profiles, the car at the minute feels like is all over the road and i dont know wheter it is down to tyres or what so im going to get new tyres and if it doesnt improve ill be getting new shocks or taing her to the clinic for them to look
any opinions? cheers

It's difficult to recommend, as i haven't tried them all....
I have tried the Yoko Prada's and they were very good in the dry and i found the wear rate good.. I agree with others that it never quite felt right in damp conditions.
I've also run Goodyear F1's and these were great in the dry too, but were also sure footed in the wet. i didn't find the wear rates quite as good on these. but i guess that's the compromise for great grip all round.
Silevrstone track tyres are great on track, although i haven't driven them in the wet yet.

i have 215/45 17s on my wrx with standard suspension and whilst i am not entirely confident in the speedo the more annoying thing is the rubbing when hard cornering or with any load in the back
