offset trouble

just bought sum new wheels and just checked the offset on the box and it dont match up with the offset listed for my car.does this mean that they wont fit i put one wheel on the pcd and evrything was ok.wat can i do

Most aftermarket wheels will have a different offset, usually around the ET45 to 48 mark.
This is too help the spokes to clear the calipers.

Offsets, right imagine the wheel is mounted to the car, the offset, measured in millimetres is the distance between the centre of the wheel and the mounting hub if viewed from above.
Standard offsets on Subaru's are about ET53~55 which means more of the wheel sits closer to the innerarch, strut, caliper etc.
A smaller offset throws the wheel outwards, most aftermarket wheels have a slightly smaller offset so the spoke design will clear the caliper, struts etc.
If your wheels you've got are designed for a Subaru then run them with no problems, for 17's go for a 215/40/17 tyres if 18's run 215/35/18's![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
