every since i had some new front pads the brakes have squeeked like mad
now its got even worse, they are squeeking whilst moving, and makes what sounds like a grinding noise when breaking...
There is still plenty of meat left on all the pads, question is..
1) how do I know if its the front or back and how can I tell if the discs are cream crackered
2) If I have to replace the discs what should I go for (MY06 WRX), I do 20K per year, most mway.
Thanks

Some brands of discs and pads squeal like a WRC car coming into service.
What brand did you have fitted. In my experience Black Diamond disks are a bit sqeaky for the first few thousand miles.

As regards telling which of front or rear is making the noise, the only sure way is to make it do it while someone OUTSIDE the car listens.
Did whoever fitted the pads use copper grease on the rear of the pads? That helps cut out squeaking.
Have you got any grit caught between disc and pad? That could account for the grinding noise?
I'd be inclined to take it to wherever fitted the bits and ask them to investigate, that is, unless you're confident of having a look yourself?
