Default 03 WRX brakes

I've recently bought a wrx wagon which has the standard 4 pots on the front. The brakes have squeeked quite badly when rolling to a stop once warm. I took the pads and disks off and they don't seem to be in too bad of a condition. I've copperslipped them up but it hasn't worked, also the leading edge of the pad had been filed off previous to me getting it so i guess that this has been happening for a while. However the pads are UNIPART items so i'm considering swapping them, question is........ is this likely to stop it (better quality pads) and what pads should i go for.

Thanks
Andy.

I had awful squeal from Mintex 1155, Ferodo DS2000 were bad at first but bedded in. Pagid Blue are supposed to be better but I never got to try them.
