Question Rear Pads

Any Tips/Hints on the replacement of the Rear Pads on a Classic MY00.

It's done 82,000 miles and this is the first change - not bought any discs as there is only a small ridge.

Got the Subaru Pads here with all the shims and brackets.

Anyone know what the minimum thickness of the rear disc is required to be?

Bollox, thats only 1mm a side

£100 a pair at my Subaru Dealer

The ridge is probably 1mm ....... just didn't want to replace the discs as they can be buggers to get off with the handbrake inside and all.

Dead easy to do, just don't disturb anything inside, 10 mins a side

Bring it round to mine and I'll do them for you

Any on-line links to some Technical Pages I can read before doing the job?

I could muddle through but like to read up first.

Camskill do some bargain brake discs. I have some on mine and they're good quality and not had any problems over the last year.

For pads, you can usually shop around and get a bargain. The no brand ones from places like Camskill and Graham Goode are a bargain - and I've not noticed any difference between them and the more expensive Red Stuff pads to be honest.

Cheers James .... I have bought them from Subaru, granted they are not cheap £51 - but, when they last me 83,000 miles I can hardly complain.

You also get all the shims and clips and wear indicator without having to re-use the old stuff.
