Question Godspeed 335 kit & the wheels you have

I would like to know what wheels will fit if you have the Godspeed 335 kit fitted.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks Andy.

you need at least 17" wheels , just about every wheel that fits over the Subaru 4 pot calipers , will also fit over the 335mm kit using these calipers

I have New age 17" wheels on my MY97WRX with the 335 kit, the spoke to caliper clearance is very small but have not had any problems in the 4 years the kits been on there.

Not sure what my wheels are, i know they're 'Rota', but i can't remember the name.....
I can however show you a picture.....

Extremely happy with the kit, amazing stopping power given the cost.......

They're supposed to fit under the wheels, not over them!!

Out of interest, do your wheels fit over the standard four pots...???

LOL Not very mechanically minded me Long day Ron . . . .

Yeah they were fine with the four pots but when the caliper mounting bracket threw the caliper out closer to the edge of the wheel they would no longer fit underneath the spokes - the spokes taper in a smidge from the centre of the wheel to the rim. It's about 2mm shy. In the end I had to plump for some spacers . . . I was'nt a happy bunny tbh.

Just checked now. 3mm spacers was enough to get the required clearances on these wheels - Yup theres plenty of thread left, the spacers are enough to stop the wheels sitting on the hub on there own though.

Default Thanks to all that have replied :)

I do currently have the 335 kit (nice upgrade from standard for the money) but the current wheels are very worn & look tired so going to get some new ones instead of refurbing the current ones.

I have a STI 5 & did wonder about the 18's but worry about the harsher ride I will get from 17's.

I do like the OZ ones to be honest but may be influenced if other ones look good.

Once again thanks for all the replies as its helping a lot.

Cheers Andy

I have looked at two wheels which are the OZ Racing UltraLeggera & Red Line Alloys on the Scooby Parts site. The OZ wheels are approx 800 & the Red Line are only 350. Would there be a noticable difference in the wheels ? I do like the Red Line wheels but wondering if the quality is okay compared to the OZ wheels.

Cheers Andy.

Andy
If your on about the Inovite Redline wheels , I used these on my M3 rally car , I modified the hubs to fit the Subaru wheels on , they were 18" though not 17 , but cant see the quality being any different. They were very strong , I did break and bend a couple , but at the same time I bent the swinging arm ! so it had a right beating.
If they are good enough for rallying they are well up to the job on a road car.

Make sure you do get the redline wheels , as the first 4 I bought were from Dare , and they are available from other places with different badges on , these ones have a hollowed out spoke behind and are weak , I used these on a couple of smooth tarmac rallies and the spoke cracked , you can feel it by putting you fingers round the back of the spokes.

Here are the wheels in action in Ireland earlier this year

Hope this helps

Cheers Ian

Is that for a limited time only Ian?

Also seen you do 2 pot brackets and brembo rear brackets for classics.... but do you do anything to fit rear brembos to newage WRX (ie already have 2 pots)??

Cheers,

Tony.

Hi Tony
The offer will be for a couple of weeks
The rear Brembo discs and caliper off the STi will fit straight onto your car , if you get the MY05 onwards discs they will need re-drilling to suit your stud pattern which I can do for you , all you will need is the thicker shoe's we had made as the handbrakes are larger on the brembo set up.

Cheers Ian

Also at the moment Scoobyclinic are doing a subaru specific drilled version of the inovite redlines
https://www.scoobynet.com/trader-ann...obyclinic.html

this means no spiggot rings or extra holes drilled for multi-fitment. I have a set on mine they are nice. They are a little darker than in the picture on the advert.

I went for Rota SDR in the end.
Supposed to be lighter than the Redline & finish meant to be better.

Cheers Andy.

Cheers Ian,

How much would the thicker shoes be on their own (£195 for the full classic brembo kit isn't it?)
