PFF7 Tyre size
Hi all,
I have a dilemma, please read
I have original 8x18 PFF7's with no tyres yet, but i am finding mixed comments on the correct tyre size,
Ideally i want 215/35/18 tyres but hear that the 215 is too streched over the 8 inch wide wheel- is this true and can it be dangerous?
The 215/35/18 would give me thin sidewalls and keep arch rubbing to a minimum, but im worried about saftey,
The other option is the 225/35/18, wider so maybe safer but bigger side wall but most importantly i cant find the size in the goodyear F1 on mytyres.com which is the cheapest tyre place by far,
Please somebody tell me that the 215 will not be dangerous, any pictures of the 2 would be a massive help also,
Any advice much appreiated
Dave M

What age is the car? The 235/40 is only recomended for MY05 on. For older new age recommended is 225/40. Mike Wood of Prodrive posted previously that 235/40 can hit the wheel arch liner on full bump with pre-MY05 cars. Fair few people running them though and reporting minimal problems. Sorry, no idea about classics.

i have a 2001 classic, the options are 215/35/18 or 225/35/18.
Ideally i want the 215's because the profile is lower and this will prevent too much rubbing as i have eibach -25mm springs,
Just concerned about the 215's being too streched and dangerous

I brought my PFF7's With 215/35/18 on and they were far to streched which caused damage to them, I have recently changed them to 225/35/18 and they fit them perfectly!!
My car has a very good suspension setup and I don't get any rubbing
Hope this helps
