right, i bought a 10 pot caliper conversion about 6 months ago, made by tarox, got it for a very good price brand new, 330mm discs, braided lines, and calipers and pads.
i am over the moon with the discs and calipers, and the general feel of the brakes, but, the pads are absoloutley shocking, they are so hard, and simply do not warm up enough to get working properly. now i know im gonna get lots of smart **** comments like drive faster and brake later etc etc, and why did you buy tarox brakes in the first place, i dont want any of that, all i want is some help and advice off people who know what they are talking about.
i am led to believe that the pads are an old mercedes van design, and are not reproduced by any of the major players in the aftermarket pads division, such as ferodo, mintex etc etc, but someone said to me that it might be possible to buy another set of pads and modify the pads to fit.
what i want to know is if anyone has any knowledge of this being true, and if so what pads are available and how i go about modifying them to fit, or any other suggestions or ways around it, ( and no im not getting rid of the kit and buying ap's or k'sports, at least not at the moment anyway.
any help would be greatfully recieved as it is driving me mad.

Talk to John Freeth at Performance Braking in Monmouth. If anyone can help you he will. Trace the pad shape and fax or email it so that he can find the closest equivalent in some decent compound like Pagid is his likely solution. He's on 01600 713117.
But why did you buy tarox..... oh sorry you said not to mention it.

Carbotech Europe Ltd
They can re-line you're old pads or make new ones and have various compounds. Try a search, plenty have used them and are more than happy. I found them to be on par with pagid blue but thankfully without the squeal, which is just what i asked for.

Just for more options, in the past I've had some pads relined by Mintex, where you'll have a choice of compounds (1144, 1155 etc).
P.S. A more more descriptive title to your post would be better - there are lots of "help please" posts everywhere.

thanks for asll the help guys, ive been in contact with tarox directly, and they have identified the pads as wrongly supplied by the company i bought the kit from, quite worrying as they are on authorised traders on here, so keep ya wits about ya??
anyway the upshot of it being they have sent me a new set of the correct pads for nothing, sent them out on thursday afternoon and got them at half 7 the following morning before i went to work, thankyou tarox.
