215/45's on a lowered classic....
Anyone running 215/45/17's on a lowered classic....any issues with rubbing/catching on arches?
The reason im asking is that i have just bought a set of winter wheels, and once they come back from getting a quick respray in anthracite (i know they didnt need it lol) im gonna put me 215/40's off my RB5 rims onto them and use them for the wet, dirty winter!!
That leaves me with my RB5 wheels needing a set of tyres so im gonna go ***** out and get something good like Toyo 888's or Bridgestone BE02's for the better weather, but after chatting to few tyre suppliers they tell me these types of tyres only come in 215/45/17's at the least, but i dont wanna fork out £500+ on a set of tyres to find out they scuff my arches....should i go with a different tyre on the ok 215/40 size or go for the good stuff on 215/45?
Also anyone running on these tyres, what yous think of them, worth the money or would i be as well off with my old favourite Goodyear F1's or the new Vredestain everyones talking about??
Advice please....
Cheers

running 215/45/17 on a classic with eibachs no rubbing what so ever.
currently need new tyres myself but going 205/45/17 though, as despite running 36 psi front they are scrubbed more than 25% on inner and outer edges with good 5mm remaining in centre.
