looking at replacement brembo discs they only seem to come in a grooved or drilled option.
drilled look great and i doubt i'd do it with the driving i do, but i know some people have had probs with cracking between the holes?
but i also seem to recall some people saying grooved were quite noisy when the brakes are applied?
never had any experience with either option, educate me please guys!![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

No problems with any grooved discs I`ve ever used, no definate noise issues ![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
I`ve also heard stories about crack between holes on the drilled discs so have never used them.

My rear grooved Godspeed disks and Performance Friction pads clonk when you first apply the brakes each time - not sure why and haven't had a chance to investigate.
I did leave all the shims out, bar the main shiny one, when I fitted the pads so it might be that. Or maybe I've fitted the anti-rattle spring in wrong. In any event the brakes work just fine.
Dimpled Performance Friction front disks and pads are silent.

I have just put grooved ones on, and after coming down from high speeds (70) braking quite hard, a buzzing noise does start, but doesn't seem to affect braking, only had the discs in about 150 miles though so far and its not very loud.

I had some EBC rotors on my last car and they were actually pretty noisy. Not something that was annoying or anything but you could easily hear them in the car. My new DBA4000 is very quiet but if I really pay attention to it I can hear them. I think it depends on the width, depth and form of the grooves. I had some once that was curved and they were as quiet as standard disc. Unfortunatly I do not know the brand since I bought the car with them on.

I have grooved disks on mine and they howl a little when braking hard. When they are new its much louder even at slow speeds but as the groves fill up with brake dust and bed in they quieten down a lot. Depends how many groves the disks have as well

I think some grooved disks are worse than others. I've tried some that make a loud droning noise under very hard braking at high speed, which resonates throughout the whole car - enough to make passengers worried that the brakes are dodgy ![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)
Whilst other remains quiet. Not sure if pad compound has a factor in this either.
Normal braking no differnce in noise, may get a light buzzing noise when driving with the windows open when NOT using the brakes.
