My front passenger side wheel (or brake) has started squeaking which is really annoying me - when I brake it goes away for a few seconds but comes back (it's getting more prominent) - it's a MY01 WRX with 8000 on it - anybody help

Regards

Lee

Dario - I had a similar noise, an annoying squeek mostly when braking but increasingly became permanent. I needed new pads, it does say in the driver's manual that this is a sign that the pads need changing .... if it is the same squeek/problem?

Cheers
Phil

I had the same problem, i took the pads out and put some copper grease on the back of the pad (obviosly not the disk side of the pad) and it stopped, just a thought!

Thumbs down

I posted about this a couple of months ago.
My squeak appeared after a 2 1/2hour motorway run. I'd just had new disc's & pads fitted. I still get it occasionally. It seems to happen if I go over a severe speed bump. Usually a sharp stab of the brakes is enough to make it go.

I've looked at the front pads and they're about half as worn as the rears (still look OK though)

I think I might just put new pads on - can anybody recommend good pads that don't give off much brake dust (my OZ's get v dirty v quickly

Regards

Lee

EBC Greenstuff

Can't remember the brand that Tyres Northampton warned me off of (the dust eats P1 wheels though).
