Default Brake Fluid

I am going to change the brake fluid, so just wondered what to get or is there any better, brands/fluids etc?

Or do I just get the bog standard.?

DOT 5.1, Ferodo or similar quality brand.

Might as well slap on some braided lines whilst your at it, they ain't expensive.

yes as above , dot 5.1 , you dont need more than 1lt to flush the whole system through

Funny you should say that, I have bought some thats why I am changing the fluid, ha. Thanks for the replies. Will get on it.

ive just gone for rbf600 for the track and it rocks.

Also the braided brake hoses are very good . very very good for 50 quid! and easy to fit.

I always use RBF600 on mine.

Worth getting an extra bottle as it sometimes take a little more than a litre if you are not used to changing fluid.

well i did my brakes and put some dot4 halfords stuff in to make sure it doesnt leak before i put the rbf600 in. Boiled the fluid in a couple of corners. rbf600 went all day at the track without cooking...

I alternate between rbf600 and ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid
Reason one is blue, the other is yellow, makes it easier to know when you are done bleeding.
Both have high boiling point temperature and will not boil on track.
