Hi mate and welcome aboard
My RE070's lasted about 12000 normal miles (some blasts )
Try not to worry to much about wear and enjoy the great grip, when we get some good weather!!!!!!!!

You should see about 10k miles from a set of REO70s as long as you are not using it on track.

I wouldn't bother with a disklok. If they really want your car they will get it, but that doesn't mean you need to worry about it as it will probably never happen.

Good luck

I think between 10 and 12 k on your tyres. Depends how much fun you have on sunday afternoons
As for the theft thing, They steal these cars with keys now days. I have said it before and I know it sounds awful but they trick is to make your car look a less attractive steal than another high power car (bmw, r32, audi etc) in the street. Park another car in front of it, Leave it in a garage, obscure views into the house so they cant look for keys etc.
You'll be fine. The theft trends are moving away from scoobs. They like big German things now.
I mean cars not michael ballack

Rotated my RE070s at 9000 miles and then changed them at 17000 miles. They still had a bit left on them before being illegal but the grip had noticeably gone.

The Goodyears I have on now are a much better all around tyre.

Whoops I have had 2 sets of RE070's each only lasted 7000 but hell I had fun

if it's nicked thats what Insurance is for.

1) Always leave the keys downstairs, out of reach but in view of stairs. I don't want thugs comming upstairs after them, risking my families health.

2) If they hijack me and demand the keys with violence, no problem, i'll even give the keys and £10 for petrol. So they can get as far away from me as possible.

3) would you really want it back after some scote has broke into it and then ragged it, i've seen some and believe me never the same again .

The car is just a peice of tin and not a priceless Heirloom, its just not worth it.

IMHO

Tony

I got around 8k miles out of my last RE070s on a Hawkeye, including two track days, three airfield days (one wet) in which one was with Don Palmer.

Not bad I thought!!

They actually last pretty well for a tyre that only comes with 6mm of tread!

My STI is parked outside on the drive, no body has touched it..the criminals know to get insurance you need a thatcham 1 alarm and tracker so they need the keys....I never leave the keys in view or in the house when I'm out and always drive with the door locked, cos they need the keys you have more chance of being burgled for them or carjacked, than having it nicked off your drive.
