£3 difference on the set I brought GSD3 F1s

MyTyres site was far easier and clearer though.

Strange as it may seem, I've never bought tyres online, and would not, now consider it.

You see, I have a working relationship with a LOCAL trader: I find a price like that off the net, he matches it for me, and his price includes the tyres FITTED, BALANCED AND MY OLD TYRES DISPOSED OF.

Plus, I'm keeping local people in work, and if there ARE any issues with the tyres, he'll sort it next day And I have had one, with a top-brand tyre, replaced next day, no fuss. Try THAT online.

Some of you should try this

Jeff, I too have a friendly "Kwik Fit" fitter, but keep him sweet and get a similar deal with the fitting of my tyres bought on-line.....

Mind you MSWUK are only a few miles away from me !

P.S. Camskill were MILES cheaper for R888's when I got mine !

I personally would never expect someone with a business to price match internet deals.
Out of courtesy, I tell my fitter how much I paid for them, but do not expect or ask them to price match.
I pay them £60 to fit, balance and dispose of the old tyres.
Don't get me wrong - if it was some chain like Kwik Fit, I would have no qualms. However it is a family business of long standing and they are always happy to see me
I suppose I could screw them a bit to save money, but if I was interested in saving money, I wouldn't do 20,000 miles a year in an STI.

Could the fitting place not have got you the tyres you wanted for the price you paid, INCLUDING fitting?
Or were they wildly out? There is quite a big mark-up on tyres you know........

I didn't push them to be honest.
When I said the price, they said they couldn't do it.
I don't like the price matching model of business anyway.
Obviously if you are getting fitting etc all in, then that is better than price matching - so that is good.
It depends a bit on how cheap you can get the tyres as well.
I paid (I think) £87 for goodyear assymetrics 225/45/17, so for me that was cool.
The fact of the matter is, I am putting about £80 into the tank each week, so not too bothered about £60 to fit tyres that I consider to be at a good price.
I must say, these figures make bad reading, so I am going to stop now.
