Default tyre sizes

hi all,i no on a classic the tyre size for 18s should be 215/35/18. but i have bin offerd some 18s with 225/40 tyres,would they be ok with a bit of arch rolling on the rear if the car isnt lowerd? i take it their is no issue with clearance on the front?

Take a look in the wheels tyres and brakes section or use the search. Its definately on there, mate

It is the width that's the problem. I tried some on my Type R and they rubbed on the rear arches - but it will also depend on the offset of the wheel and even the tyre make - so there is no definitive answer. Strangely 225/45/17's are okay on my car - must be to do with the wheel offset.
