HELLO.... NEWS FLASH

I am afraid to say the situation has now changed... and those of you who have baught tyres this weekend will already know... but

My supplier has run out of the old style F1 tyres, and with the new ones prices have gone up by £25 per tyre which means that anyone looking for 215/40/17 is looking at getting on for £400 for a set at present Now he is hoping to be able to get better prices for these but cant at the moment.

As an alternative he is now offering Uniroyal Rainsport Z rated 215/40/17 at the same price as the old F1 tyres. These are apparently the flagship uniroyals, and although I have never used these, as a fellow scoob enthusuast he has assured me they are a good, grippy, sexy looking tyre and he will be using them on his STI in future. So, these will be my mainstream 17" tyre on a 40 profile, until I advise you of any changes.

HE DOES however still have some of the old style 215/45/17 good year f1 tyres..... although these wont last long., and he has some 205/40/17 f1 left as well.

If any of you want to take advantage of these great tyres then let me know, although I expect them all to be gone by the end of the week, so first come first served.

An indication of price

215/40/17 uniroyal ..... £320 inc postage
215/45/17 goodyear f1.....£360 inc postage
205/40/17 goodyear f1....£320 inc postage

For any of you that are using the uniroyal tyres... any feedback on them would be appreciated.

thats all folks.......

For any of you who may be looking for tyres, then mail me. I have a supplier who has arranged low prices on performance tyres and many different variants of alloys.

Can do 16" , 17" , 18"

Hi,

Can you not go down to 15 inches? I am looking (in the next few months) to buy a set of F1s or proxes T1-s fo my pug. If you can do 15s then can you give me an idea how much it will be for 4x 195/55/15.

Cheers

hello...

I can supply any tyres at all.... and any size.

i would recommend the f1, and that is what i can do the best deals on, although will do toyo's, bridgestone etc if you want it., and yes, i can do 15" no problem.

mail me offline with sizes and I shall get you a price.

Jza £300 plus £20 P and p

mail me.

BTW... not meaning anyone in particular, but I am getting a little p!ssed with people mailing me with no intention of buying. The bloke I get them for is doing them very cheaply, and if I keep asking for tyres only for the poeple to keep backing out, then it will spoil it for everyone, and he will stop doing it. Please dont mail unless you are interested and gonna buy in the next week or so. thanks

Sermon over

Better to post your prices then.
I emailed you for that information and thank you for the prompt reply. Tanvic Tyres can beat your quoted price, fitted etc. so felt that it wasn't such a great deal.

Cheers

Smanning,

Do you have a price for 205/50/16? I wouldn't mind the Toyo's of the F1's but I think I may go for the harder wearing Falken FK-451,s if you've got a price for them?

Thanks

f 1 goodyear - these are the most popular of sizes

205/50/16 - £300
215/40/17 - £300
215/45/17 - £340 - although may be able to get these cheaper depending on size of orders and how many they have of these.

You asked for feedback, so...

I have a set of Uniroyal Rainsport-1 tyres in 215/40x17. I got them free for a job, but would not pay money for them.

They are soft and comfortable, and have absolutely huge directional drainage channels which I'm sure clear the water superbly. But to be fair, the only wet driving I've done was in Jan/Feb when the roads were more greasy than wet, but I never felt like pushing them. Took them off and fitted my other wheels with Bridgestone S0-2pp tyres. But they've had it now and the Uniroyals are back on.

In the dry, they're hopeless. Big drainage channels means small tread blocks and with 8mm of rubber still on them, they squirm, understeer, and are unstable under (very) hard braking. Not happy.

When they swapped the tyres over to my road wheels, the Unroyals came off almost by themselves, but it took two blokes to get the old SO-2s back on my other wheels for track days.

Somewhat inconclusive conclusion: wet performance unproven, but in the dry the Bidgestones with bigger tread blocks and FAR stiffer sidewalls are in a different league. (Scoobs understeer enough as it is!!!)

I'll be getting some Toyos or Goodyears and keeping the Uniroyals as spares. I know it's money (maybe) wasted, but good tyres are the best/cheapest performance upgrade you can get.

Richard.
