Default Porsche cayenne brakes

Hi guys,

Im new to the forum so thought i would drop in and say hi and ask a couple of questions that i'm sure you guys and gals can help with.

I have a 2.0 Turbo awd 1998, its a UK spec car and i have managed to come by a set of Porsche cayenne S REAR callipers, Is it a common upgrade method to fit porsche brakes to yous scooby?

if so can anyone advise on what / where to buy fitting kit / discs?

Many thanks

PS i was thinking of fitting the rears to the front on the scooby, not the back!

Not going to happen. Sell them and buy some STi Brembo brakes.

to be fair anything can be made to fit if your budget and contacts are sorted..............

have previously made custom adaptors to work with Porshe 993 calipers on a 326mm STi spec disc..

Just for the record ... did you know that the 350Zs, STIs, Volvo s70R(I think thats the model), Porsche Cayman, Dodge SRTs and I think there is one more but either way, they all run the same Brembo calipers ... they are interchangable! Promise!

taken from another website...

The website is wrong then , as they all use different calipers and they are not interchangeable.

To the OP , the problem with the rear calipers is they usually have smaller pistons compared to the front , so don't work that well as a front caliper , you really have to stamp on them quite hard to get them to work , you would be better off with front Porsche calipers , but then you need to sort out mounting brackers , and then discs to fit with them , to be honest if your looking for a cheap upgrade your better off getting an STi brembo set up , or another make big brake that is a complete bolt on kit ,

Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

K-sport advert above this thread...1000 quid for a 330m setup, not sure what that includes tho...

or Ian above may have a good kit for not too many pennies...would be interesting to knwo how much work needs to go into getting the Porsche calipers to fit tho.

Hey motion i can use your help i have an 06 350z with the garbage break package, i notices the brembos sell for about 1500 to swap to my car, but i saw the volvo type r brembos witch look exactly the same as the 350z brembos just different color they sell for only 600 at my local junkyard with rotors, are you sure the mouting points will fit on the z, thanks for your help it will honestly save me 1g if the big brake off the volvo r swap to the 350z...

also even though the EVO and STi use the same basic caliper the mountings ARE different

The pads off the brembo package 350z are not the same pads as the one for the STI or SRT or Volvo R? The rotors are the same size and width tho and in looking at pictures the mouting points seem to look the same, Motion-mx claims they are the same. I know the brembos on the STI look exactly like the BRembos on the 350z and g35, does anyone kno if they fit, im also intrested in the k sport are you asking 1200 for front and rears?

just realised your location is listed as New Jersey, so unless American 350z are different spec brakes the Euro/JDM Brembo equipped cars use a pad 120mm long whilst the EVO/STi pad is 132mm long..........

Anything can be made to fit anything within reason but the cost of manufacturing adaptors can be the stumbling block
