After some grooved Discs all round
Been doing some searching on here for some grooved replacment disc's for my impreza STI 05, its therefore using the brembo set up currently.
Seen the ones Bob sells etc, look ok but wanting more of the grrove look, similar to the K-Sport discs.
I'm happy with brembo calipers too, just after discs front and rear.
Now I have seen in the mags a company called 3G brakes they are in Harwich which is 30mins from me, they have pics of the disc's im after just no prces yet, they are the 2 piece with blue alu bells, perfect.
I will call them asap, but just wondering has anyone used them?, what the products like? and any pics? of any more makes would be great.
Thanks
Daz

Hi Nick, yeah I have seen these discs, look good your right, but just sort of hooked on the traditional style of groove.
I'll keep at it as have another look at your upgrade, thanks for that.

Cool Ian, thats more what I'm after the 2 piece fronts, and same groove pattern 1 piece rears.
Question:- do people fit 2 piece rears too?
Could you pm me some prices for the following then:-
2piece alu bells front discs grooved
as above rears.
just rear 1 piece grooved.
Pad wise I currently have the Black Diamond Predator pads all round, and have be very happy with them. They have loads of life left in them, but is it best to renew pads with new discs?
Many thanks Ian

Hi
My 2 piece front discs are £295 a pair , and the one piece rears are £119 a pair , we dont offer a 2 piece rear disc , as the handbrake is in the centre of the rear discs , the one piece discs are more robust for this
Yes you can reuse your existing pads , just flat them off with sand paper / emery cloth on a flat surface , make sure they are completely flat before fitting them to new discs.
Cheers Ian

Do they come with all I need to change them, i.e spacers/bolts etc if needed?
And they are the same size as I have so, 329mm F, 316mm R.
I'll continue my research, but will def keep your ones in mind for sure.

Ok brakes I have got my head round now, onto pads next.
Reading that the Ferodo ones have a mixed view, plus they are dear, some saying had Ferodo but now have Performance Friction and loving them more so, again pricey, but quality is i guess.
I have Black Diamond Predator on now and like them, fronts give hardly any dust rears do though, think they may be different version of pred pad? would these work well with your 2piece front and rear groove disc set up Ian?

Ian, do you think you could quote me on some pads please?
Im currently using Black Diamond Predator front & rear, and I'm happy with them, dont think they are the FT pads though, can you get hold of these pads atall?, if so at what cost?
The Feredo & Performace Friction are a little too pricey I think, for the use I will need, but am interested in the Kevlar Pads you supply, which would you sudjest be best for 99% fast road use Black Diamond or Kevlar?
Cost for both makes, front & rear.
Thanks
Daz

Hi Daz
I dont supply the black diamond pads , if your happy with the performance of them you could stick with them , any pad make is suitable to run on my discs , the important thing is to find a pad suitable for your driving style.
The kevlar pads are a good alround pad , but wont take any track use , or very hard road use , they are a good mild fast road pad
The retail price on our pads are £75 front and £55 rears , but if your having discs , have deals on for comeplete packages
Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Any questions please ask , I mainly supply the Kevlars , Miintex 1155's or Ferodo
DS2500's , these are the most popular 3 , can supply just about all popular makes , the mintex and Ferodo's are quite a bit more expensive , but are better for the hard driver , track dayer.
Cheers Ian

Well Im all for trying new things out so wouldnt mind trying either Mintex or ferodo pads, might as well.
So I've narrowed it down to them 2 lol,
do either squeal more than other hot or cold?
Brake dust level?
Guess they are around simialr price-ish?

The Ferodo's give off a bit more dust , and Round town the Mintex M1155 can squeel a bit sometimes , only seems to do this with plenty of stop start driving , but stops with a bit of spirited driving , the prices are £135 for the Mintex and £165 for the DS2500's , the Ferodo's are expensive .

Them prices are for the fronts only yeah?
what about the rear pad prices?
searched on here for both pads types, as ever get the 50/50 crowd lol.
Makes it hard to choose really, but asking you is my best bet., Dont really like the sound of squealing brakes, but you say they may do, but go after a quick blast on them.
So, what would you really recommend me for a pad, Ferodo or Mintex?

Ok thats great, might as well ask the main man these questions, thanks Ian.
Well if I may, can I call you up hopefully tomorrow or later this week and finalize the sale?
so just to confirm what I would like:-
to fit 114.3PCD, using Brembo calipers 05 Impreza STI.
2 piece Grooved front disc's
1 piece Grooved rear disc's
Ferodo DS2500 front pads
Ferodo DS2500 rear pads.
Could you also advise me of delivery charge?
and a possible cracking deal for the above (pm me that if you like).
Thanks
Daz

Excellent thanks again Ian.
Last question, Can I change discs and pads with out the need to bleed the system?, as I'll try this upgrade myself, looks simple enough (he says).
Do just have to take the brake res cap off to help push the pistons back in yeah, and thats all?

As above , it would be good to flush some new fluid in while your changing your discs and pads , brake fluid should be changed every 18 months or so.
I also have a deal ( sorry dont mean for you to spend all your money ) on braided hoses and a litre of dot 5.1 fluid for £49.50 , or just fluid for £9.50
Cheers Ian

sorry to hijack, but, what's the difference between one and two piece disc's?
Also what price for one piece disc's for four pots as in the picture above and do you supply mintex 1144 pads?

Ian can probably confirm this but, think the 2 piece are less prone to warping as they allow a very small amount of movement between the bell and disc, therefore can withstand higher temps/harder useage.
